During the winter of 1998-1999, I worked in the prestigious studio of master architect Umberto Riva in Milan, Italy. Riva is renown for his attention to detail. I learned to design interiors and to design lamps in that period. I have shoeboxes full of sketchbooks with lamps, furniture, and architectural details. Below are two freelance projects from 2005-2006.

Railings

Design for wood railings in an open space living room, second floor home office, and archive space.

Lamp

Lamp for designed for the 2005 Takeaway collection. Prototype manufactured in China; displayed during the Salone del Mobile week in Milan, Italy.
